Why does the app need access to my camera?
BotaniX uses your camera to scan plants and soil for identification,
disease detection, and soil analysis. Without camera access, these
core features will not function. We only access your camera when you
actively use the scanning features.
The app keeps crashing when I try to scan a plant. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure your iOS is updated to version 17 or later

Close other apps running in the background to free up memory
- Restart the app or your device
- Check if you have sufficient storage space available
- Ensure good lighting conditions when scanning
If the issue persists, please contact our support team with details
about your device model and iOS version.
How do I reset my password?
To reset your password:
- Tap "Login" on the home screen
- Select "Forgot Password"
- Enter your email address
- Follow the instructions sent to your email
If you don't receive the reset email, check your spam folder or
contact support.

How accurate is the plant identification feature?
BotaniX uses Google's Gemini Flash 4.0 AI model for plant
identification, which offers approximately 98.7% accuracy for common
species and 94.2% for rare species. For best results:
- Take clear, well-lit photos

- Try multiple angles if the first scan is inconclusive
Can BotaniX detect all plant diseases?
BotaniX can identify over 150 common plant diseases with 96.3%
accuracy. While our disease detection is comprehensive, some rare or
emerging plant diseases may not be immediately recognized. Our
database is continuously updated to improve detection capabilities.
If you encounter a disease that isn't recognized, you can share it
in the community section where other users or our team might help
identify it.
How do I get the most accurate soil analysis?
For optimal soil analysis results:
- Take a fresh soil sample from 2-3 inches below the surface
- Remove any debris, stones, or plant material
- Place the soil on a neutral-colored surface
- Take the photo in natural daylight without shadows
- Ensure the soil is slightly damp but not wet
Our soil analysis can estimate NPK values, pH, and moisture content
within 7% of laboratory testing for most soil types.
How do I share my plants with the community?
To share with the BotaniX community:
- Navigate to the Community tab
- Tap the "+" button in the bottom right
- Select a photo from your gallery or take a new one
- Add a title and description
- Choose relevant tags to help others find your post
- Tap "Share" to publish
Are there community guidelines I should follow?
Yes, we maintain a positive and helpful community environment by
asking all users to:
- Be respectful and supportive of other gardeners
- Only share plant-related content
- Give constructive feedback and advice
- Avoid promotional or commercial posts
- Respect others' privacy and intellectual property
Content that violates these guidelines may be removed, and repeated
violations could result in account restrictions.
